Dr. Heather Alaniz has 15+ years of experience working in 5 different settings . She worked in Chicago for the first 10 years of her career where she completed her residency training to become an orthopedic certified specialist. Heather took her first pelvic health course after the birth of her first child and found she was passionate about serving this population.  

Heather and her family moved to Iowa in 2020 where she continued her career and education becoming certified in pelvic health and dry needling. 

Before opening Entera Pelvic Health, Heather has previously practiced at Athletico and Swedish Hospital in Chicago and Breathe Physical Therapy and Des Moines University in Des Moines. 

As a physical therapist serving Urbandale and the greater Des Moines area, Dr. Heather Alaniz specializes in and is passionate about pelvic and orthopedic health and wellness.  She enjoys seeing her clients transition from a point of hopelessness, pain and even embarrassment to a place of healing, confidence and independence. Heather has three very different birth stories including one c-section and two v-bacs.  She is an avid runner who now believes strength training is a must.  Heather is committed to empowering her clients to pursue the things they love to do!
